Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians kicked of their 2nd game against each other at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, in Dubai. Once again the defending champion MI failed to deliver the performance of their class as RCB won the match by 7 wickets in the 18th over in a low scoring encounter. The RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and sent Mumbai Indians to bat first. Michael Hussey (16 of 15 balls) and Aditya Tare (17 of 18 balls) opened the batting for MI. However, RCB yet again came to the ground without Chris Gayle as he need more time to recover from his injury. Anyway, RCB started the match quite well, even after they dropped two early catches in the match as Albie Morkel and Varun Aaron dismissed the two openers of MI.

Wickets kept on falling for MI as Rohit Sharma (2 of 5 balls), Kieron Pollard (3 of 7 balls), Corey Anderson (18 of 19 balls) failed to perform again. Only Ambati Rayudu showed some class as he scored 35 of 37 balls. MI scored only 115 runs loosing 9 wickets in their limited 20 over. RCB’s bowlers gave an outstanding performance as Michel Starc, Albie Morkel and Yuzvendra Chahal each of them took 2 wickets.

In reply, RCB lost three very big wickets of Nic Maddinson (12 of 8 balls), Virat Kohli (C) (0 of 2 balls), Yuvraj Singh (0 of 2 balls) early in the match. MI’s Zahher Khan’s (2-21) brilliance gave some hope to Mumbai Indians but Parthiv Patel (W) (57 runs of 45 balls) and AB de Villiers* (45 Runs of 48 Balls) made an extraordinary partnership of 99 runs in just 83 balls to win the match for RCB with 2.3 overs left.

The man of the match award was given to Parthiv Patel for his match winning performance and Kanna Keep calm Award and Yes Bank Maximum Sixes award was given to AB de Villiers respectively.
