The fourth match in World T20 2014 was played in group B Netherlands and United Arab Emirates teams. It was contested at Sylhet Stadium at the neutral venue on 17th March. The toss was won by the UAE team who chose to bat first. Amjad Ali and Faisan Asif were the opening batsmen. It was a good start with a four by Amjad Ali, but then was immediately dismissed on the 9th minute of the play. The next batsmen was Khurram Khan who built up 31 runs in 25 balls until he was dismissed by a bold by Tom Cooper. Steady runs came in by Swapnil Patil, Shaiman Anwar and Rohan Mustafa. The next batsmen didn’t contribute much runs.  Ultimately all of the batsmen were knocked out with a final score of 151 runs. Ahsan Malik tool 3 wickets while giving 16 runs at 4.17 economy.

Netherlands team batting was commenced by Stephan Myburgh and Michael Swart. Good batting by Myburgh by increasing the scoreboard by 55 runs in 36 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and a strike rate of 152.77. He was run out by Swapnil Patil. Swart also contributed 26 runs in 16 balls. Wesley Barresi was dismissed by Shadeep Silva and then Tom Cooper gave 34 runs in 26 balls. Netherlands won the match in 18.5 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Manjula Guruge and Shadeep Silva gave high economies of 9.75 and 9.5. Tom Cooper won the man of the match award and the Netherlands team led further by 2 points.
