The second match in 2014 T20 World Cup was played in between Hong Kong and Nepal, both of which are Group A teams. The match was contested at Neutral Venue of Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium at Chittagong. Hong Kong won the toss and chose to field in first innings. Hong Kong Bowlers tried to give their best but could not keep a control on runs building up the scoreboard for Nepal team. High economies from every bowler of Hong Kong Team were evident, more so from Najeeb Amar, Irfan Ahmed and Tanwir Afzal. Steady runs came in from Subash Khakurel, Gyanendra Malla, Paras Khadka finally taking the score board for Nepal to 149 in 20 overs at 7.45 runs per over.

In came Irfan Ahmed and Waqas Barkat to open the batting for Hong Kong, but did not stay long. Barkat contributed 20 runs and later Babar Hayat added 20 runs in 25 balls with 2 fours. Later, one by one all batsmen got dismissed and the whole team was all out in 17 overs, making a score of only 69 runs. There was not even one single six from the Hong Kong team. Good bowling by Nepal team with Basant Regmi and Shakti Gauchan taking 3 wickets each. The economy rate by Nepal bowlers was also low and gave away only 1 extra Leg By run. Gauchan bagged the Man of Match award. Nepal team won the match and took a lead by 2 points.
