Preview of DDR Vs PWI match- 28 April

Welcome to the match number 39 between DDR and PWI, as they fight each other to gain their control over the game. Althoguh both team has not perfomed up to the level they should, so this is crucial for them.

 

Where it will be played: International Cricket Stadium, Raipur ( You can check out more details here).

Time of play and where I can watch: The match will start 8 PM (IST) and tune to Set max.

Facts about the Game: Both the team has played four macthces against each other and out of these, 2 are won by DD, one by PWI and one gone to no result.

News from the center  is that Pune Warriors have won the toss and elected to bowl first in this wonderful opening venue of Raipur.
Crowd here is just amazing and they have come to party.
Sehwag and Jayawardhene are out in the middle to take strike for Delhi and Bhubneshwar Kumar will open the bowling for Pune Warriors.
At the end of 11 overs, Delhi Daredevils are 70 for the loss of 3 wickets.
Delhi has already lost Jayawadhene, Sehwag and U Chand. They have not put enough runs on board yet.
So the entire responsibility rests on Warner's shoulder so far as well as Rohrer who has got another opportunity to show his talent and prove his franchise right for having chosen him.

After the end of 11 overs, Delhi were struggling. Wickets had fallen quickly at regular intervals and runs on board were not enough. They were very much dependent on Warner and Rohrer and Warner did not let them down this time.
Rohrer stayed with Warner and scored 13 runs off 13 balls but it was Warner who took the charge and scored a brilliant half century.
Delhi scored 164 runs for the loss of just 5 wickets.
Warner scored 52 runs in just 25 balls which included four boundaries and four sixes.
K Jadhav played a little cameo as well and scored quick 25  runs in just 19 balls which included two sixes.
Raipur stadium is marvellous and so are its boundaries which is quite bigger than the Kotla stadium.
It won't be a easy chase for Pune Warriors at all and they will also need to chip in as a team if they want to win this one.

Pune Warriors India is chasing a good score of 165 runs here in Raipur stadium where boundaries are quite big than normal and they have begun quite splendidly.
At the end of 7 overs, Pune have scored 58 runs for the loss of no wicket. They have kept things simple, scored boundaries and rotated strikes. They have showed no signs of taking any risk or playing big shots.
This clearly shows that the pitch is good enough to bat on and score runs easily.
Uthappa has scored 30 runs in just 25 balls which includes 4 boundaries and Finch has played quickly and scored 27 runs in just 17 balls which also includes 4 boundaries.
Pune should be able to chase this one down easily here but this is a T20 game and you never know what may happen in a short time.

Oh My God.
Pune has ruined their fate again. They really looked very comfortable in this chase till 7 overs and then they finally blew up.
Delhi Daredevils defeated Pune by 15 runs.
Uthappa and Finch failed to convert 30s into big scores.
Luke Wright came in and played a lot of dot balls which brought game till the last over needed more than what could have been scored even by smith.
A brilliant death bowling by Umesh Yadav giving away just 2 runs in 19th over of the game and picking up the wicket of Luke Wright and Yuvraj Singh sealed the game for Delhi.
Amazing bowling and well supported by fielders brought Delhi back into the game.
Pune warriors are now at the bottom most of the table with just 2 wins in 9 games while Delhi is in same position but better net run rate pushes them to number 8.

Pune Warriors are now at the bottom of the point table which also means that they have nothing to lose from here.

They will play freely from here and will for sure cause some great upsets.

They are now a major threat to teams like Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad who are trying hard to make it for the playoffs.

@prernaghb: It's not only the case with Pune now.
Same goes for Delhi Daredevils as well as Kolkata Knight Riders. These three almost now cannot make it for the playoffs. So these three teams will play a major role in causing upsets for other teams.
Beware MI, KXIP, RR and SRH. Yuvyaj Singh, Gautam Gambhir and Sehwag's company is coming for a party now.

@skyshot: looking at the point table, it is clear that not two but three teams are out of the playoff chase.
It is Pune Warriors, Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders.
There is no chance that Kolkata can make it to playoff this season, I can bet blindly on that now.
