Highest 9th Wicket Partnership in T20 World Cup

From statistics, it’s clear that 9th wicket partnership in World T20 championship doesn’t have that much significance. To be honest, World T20 contests usually consist of 20 overs and what else can you expect from number 8th or 9th batsman, when the top and middle order had not fired. But in some low total T20I clashes at the World T20 championship, the ninth wicket partnership has contributed well for their team.

What’s more interesting is the fact that in the history of World T20 there is only one occasion when a batting pair successfully scored 40+ score. The batting duo of Gulbadin Naib and Shapoor Zardan of Afghanistan put a strong 44-run partnership for the 9th wicket at World T20 match against England in Colombo in 2012, when the team had already lost 8 wickets for just 26 runs at one stage. But barring this exception, ninth wicket partnership couldn’t deliver as much as run as any team could wish for after losing eight wickets at cheap scores.
