Best Bowling Figures in T20

There have been several occasions in cricket's shortest format when a single bowler has altered the game. It has been stated from the introduction of T20I matches that T20 is a hitters' game with nothing for the bowler, however, this has been proven incorrect in prior years. Many bowlers have taken more than five wickets in T20 matches and assisted in their team's victory.

Let's take a look at some of the best t20 bowling figures.

Peter Aho (6 Wickets for 5)

Peter Aho, a Nigeria right-arm pacer, is at the top position for getting the best bowling figure in the T20 international matches. He took 6 wickets for 5 runs while playing against Sierra Leone at Lagos on 24 October 2021. Peter Aho made his T20I debut in the match against Kenya at Entebbe on September 11, 2021. Since his debut, he has played 16 matches in which he has taken 20 international T20 wickets.

Deepak Chahar (6 Wickets for 7)

Deepak Chahar, an Indian medium-pacer is sitting at the 2nd position for having T20 best bowling figures. While playing against Bangladesh at Nagpur in 2019, Deepak Chahar took 6 wickets and gave 7 runs that helped the Indian team to achieve a victory by 30 runs. He made his T20I debut against England at Bristol on July 08, 2018, and has taken 26 wickets in his 20 T20I matches since then.

Dinesh Nakrani (6 Wickets for 7)

Dinesh Nakrani, a left-arm allrounder of Uganda is in the number 3rd position for making the best bowling figure in the T20 international. While playing against Lesotho at Kigali on 19 Oct 2021, he took 6 wickets which assisted Uganda to achieve a big victory by 10 wickets. He made his T20I debut in the match against Botswana at Kampala on May 20, 2019. Since his debut, he has appeared in 26 T20I matches and has taken 40 wickets with an average of 11.67.

Ajantha Mendis (6 Wickets for 8)

Ajantha Mendis, former right-arm off-break spinner of Sri Lanka, is at the number 4th position for getting the best bowling figure in the T20 international matches. He took 6 wickets for 8 runs while playing against Zimbabwe in the 1st match of the T20 World Cup 2012. Sri Lanka set a target of 183 for Zimbabwe but because of the incredible bowling performance of Mendis, they could make 100 runs. Mendis made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe at King City (NW) on October 10, 2008. In his T20I journey, he appeared in 39 matches and took 66 wickets with an average of 14.42.

Ajantha Mendis (6 Wickets for 16)

Once again, Ajantha Mendis is the next name on the list for getting the best bowling figure in the T20 international matches. He took 6 wickets for 16 runs against Australia at Pallekele on 8 Aug 2011. Mendis's bowling performance was phenomenal in that match as Sri Lanka set a target of 158 runs for Australia but could make only 149 and lost the match by 8 runs, Ajantha Mendis was named Man of the Match for his 6 wickets.
