Dwayne helps Mumbai in winning the match against Lions - The 11th match of the Champions League saw the Lions come face to face against the Mumbai Indians. It was a game which marked the beginning of the 2nd half of the group stage of the tournament. The match was played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium of Jaipur and after winning the toss the Mumbai Indians decided to field first. The Mumbai Indian bowlers were on top of the Lions from the start and made run scoring difficult for the team. They kept on taking constant wickets and made sure that the Lions were never able to set their steps in the match. In the 14th over of the game the Lions were reduced to 5/81 by the Mumbai Indians. Alviro Petersen and Dwaine Pretorius were the players who managed to score runs and played some sensible cricket. Both the batsmen scored 35 and 31 respectively to take their team to a total of 140 runs at the end of 20 overs. Harbhajan Singh was the most economical bowler giving away only 19 runs taking 1 wicket.

The Mumbai Indians yet again didn’t do well in the start as they lost some early wickets in the game. The wickets included the wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and Dinesh Karthik. Rohit Sharma tried to score some runs but failed as after scoring 20 runs he too lost his wicket leaving the team to a score of 90/3. It was Dwayne Smith who was the difference in the match as he smashed 63 runs in the innings. He was well supported by Kieron Pollard who scored 31 runs. The Mumbai Indians managed to win the match with 9 balls remaining and emerged as winners. Dwayne Smith was named as the man of the match for his bating performance. With this win Mumbai Indians earned the all-important 4 points in the tournament.
