The Royals emerge winner in a closely fought match - The 9th match of the Champions League T20 was played between the Rajasthan Royals and the Lions in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium of Jaipur. It was a Group A match and in the match Lions after winning the toss decided to field first. Ajinkya Rahane the young star of the team lost his wicket pretty early. He managed to score only 6 runs in the innings and left his team to a score of 21/1 in the 4th over. later Sanju Samson too didn’t shine in this match as he lost his wicket in the 6th over of the game leaving his team to a score of 36/2. Rahul Dravid played a knock of 31 runs. Shane Watson and Stuart Binny set the stage for the team as these two batsmen scored 33 and 38 runs respectively. The quick runs helped the team to recover from the early loss of wickets while Brad Hodge provided the perfect ending to the innings with a 23 ball 46 runs. the Rajasthan Royals scored 183 runs in the 1st innings.

To score such a big score while chasing the team always looks for a good start. The Lions failed to get it as in the 1st 5 overs the team lost 3 wickets at a score of 36. The Royals were on top of the game from the start of the 2nd innings. Hrdus Vilijoen and Alviro Petersen together managed to stitch a partnership taking their team to 89 runs before Vilijoen lost his wicket after scoring 24 runs. the 14th over of the innings saw Lions lose two quick wickets and thus the game became tougher for Lions. Petersen was the top scorer as he scored 40 runs but failed to get a good support from his team. the Lions managed to score only 153 runs losing the game. Pravin Tambe took 4 wickets for Royals and was named the man of the match.
