The 5th T20 match of the Pakistan Super League 2021 was fought between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans at National Stadium, Karachi on 23 Feb 2021. Shahnawaz Dhani was going to debut in PSL for Multan Sultans. Peshawar squad won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first. Mohammad Rizwan and Chris Lynn came out to the middle and Mohammad Imran got the new ball in hand to open the attack.

In the beginning, Multan lost the wicket of Chris Lynn very early in the 1.1 overs at the score of 6 runs only. Then, James Vince came to join Rizwan and both the players played nice and built up a partnership of 82 runs. The Sultans completed their 100 runs on the scoreboard in 11.5 overs. James Vince played a wonderful inning of 84 runs from 55 balls at the strike rate of 152.73 that helped Multan to add a defending total of 193 runs to the scoreboard. Peshawar needed 194 runs to register their first victory in the PSL 6 session.

Iman-ul-Haq and Kamran Akmal came on the crease to chase the target and Sohail Tanvir got the new ball in hand to open the attack. Peshawar Zalmi started very well and had made 56 runs at the end of mandatory Powerplay. Multan needed a breakthrough and the job was completed by Usman Qadir. Qadir dismissed Akmal at the score of 57 runs. Tom Kohler-Cadmore came to join Imam-ul-Haq after the dismissal of Akmal. Both the players performed very well and built up a partnership of 77 runs that helped Peshawar to achieve the target comfortably. Iman-ul-Haq made 48 runs and Tom Kohler-Cadmore contributed match-winning 53 runs from just 32 balls.

Peshawar Zalmi won the 5th T20 PSL 2021 match by 6 wickets with 6 balls remaining and Tom Kohler-Cadmore was the Man of the Match.
