The 8th match of the CPL 2020 was played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jaaica Tallawahs on August 20, Thursday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad at 5:30 PM (LT). Jamaica Tallawahs captain R Powell won the toss and elected to field first.

The openers of Guyana Amaon Warriors gave a good start to team. They made an opening partnership of 56 runs. B King scored 29 runs and C Hemraj scored 21 runs. The star player of Guyana Amazon Warriors Shimron Hetmyer got out on duck on the very first ball he played of Mujeeb Ur Rahman. It was very difficult to bat on, as the pitch was totally in favour of bowlers. The experienced Ross Taylor played 21 runs innings and helped Guyana Amazon Warriors to have a total of 118 runs in their 20 over. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Carlos Braithwaite took 3 wickets each. Sandeep Lamichhane also showed top level bowling. He gave only 8 runs in his 4 over and took 2 wickets.  It was a target of 119 runs for Jamaica Tallawahs to win the game.

It was a low scoring game. C Walton opened the innings for Jamaica Tallwahs along with Glenn Phillips and both the openers of Jamaica got out on duck. Captain Chris Green bowled brilliantly and took 2 early wickets for Guyana Amazon Warriors. The Jamaican captain R Powell scored 23 runs and gave good fight to Guyana Warriors bowlers. It was a small target but the bowlers of Guyana gave their best to make it difficult for Jamaica Tallawahs. Asif Ali and Carlos Braithwaite got out early but Andre Russell showed good cricket and showed fighting spirit to win the game for his team. He scored not out 52 runs in just 37 balls. But he could not win the game for Jamaica Tallawahs. Jamaican team scored only 104 runs in their 20 over.

Guyana Amazon Warriors won the game by 14 runs. Naveen-Ul-Haq was selected as player of the match.
