The seventh T20 match of the Big Bash League was played between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder at Manuka Oval in Canberra on 14 Dec 2020. Brisbane Heat won the toss and the captain decided to bat first. Max Bryant and Sam Heazlett were sent to open the inning and the ball was given to Chris Green. It was a good start for Brisbane Heat and they scored 13 runs in the first over.

In the 4th over, a back of length ball of Daniel Sams took the wicket of Heazlett. After 4 overs, Heat scored 42 runs at the loss of 1 wicket. Heat lost their 2nd wicket at the score of 73 runs. Chris Lynn played a wonderful inning of 69 runs from just 44 balls and set a target of 179 runs for Sydney Thunder. Jack Wildermuth also played well and made important 31 runs off just 11 balls.

Usman Khawaja & Alex Hales came to open for their team and Jack Wildermuth opened the ball. Wildermuth bowled really well and took the first wicket for his team. Hales was sent back by Wildermuth at Duck. Thunder was in trouble and Callum Ferguson came to handle the situation. But it was not that easy and he also lost his wicket in the first over. Wildermuth got two big wickets in his first over.

Nothing was going well for Thunder and they were losing wickets continuously. The score was 73 runs at the loss of 4 wickets at the end of 10 overs. Then Daniel Sams came in the 11th over after the dismissal of Ross. He was the player who changed the situation. Sam's not out inning of 65 runs from just 25 balls with three 4s and seven 6s helped Thunder to register a victory in 18.5 overs.

Daniel Sams for his tremendous performance was awarded Player of the Match. Jack Wildermuth bowled really well and he took 3 wickets in the match.
