The 55th T20 match of the KFC Big Bash League was fought between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Renegades at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on 26 Jan 2021. The Hurricanes won the toss and invited the Renegades to bat first. Shaun Marsh and Aaron Finch were sent to start the inning for Renegades. Nick Winter was the opening bowler for Hobart.

The Renegades did not get a good start and struggled with their top-order batting performance. Hobart’s bowlers destroyed the top order of the Renegades very badly. Renegades had lost 4 wickets at the score of 15, 35, 36, and 49 runs. Then Mackenzie Harvey and Beau Webster controlled the situation very well and made a much-needed partnership of 63 runs that assisted the Renegades to put a total of 150 runs on the scoreboard. Mackenzie made 40 runs and Webster played a match-winning inning of unbeaten 54 runs. Hobart Hurricanes needed 151 runs from 120 balls to win the match.

Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short were sent to chase the target. Beau Webstar got the new ball to deliver first over. The Hurricanes could not get a good start and lost two quick wickets at the score of 29 runs. D’Arcy Short Dawid Malan tried a lot but after their dismissal, no batsman could stay longer. Short added 29 runs and Malan made 34 runs for his team but that was not sufficient. Finally, Hobart could make only 139 runs and the result went in the favor of Renegades. Zak Evans bowled really well and took 5 wickets for his team in the match.

Melbourne Renegades won the 55th BBL match of the 2020-21 season by 11 runs and had sent the Hurricanes out of the tournament. Zak Evans got the Man of the Match title for his stormy bowling performance.
