The 15th T20 match of the KFC Big Bash League was played between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers at Metricon Stadium in Carrara on 26 Dec 2020. Sidney Sixers won the toss and invited the opposition team to bat first. Andre Fletcher and Ben Duck were sent to open for Melbourne Stars. Jason Holder got the new ball.
It was not a good start for Stars and they lost their first wicket at the 5th ball of the very first over. Glenn Maxwell made unbeaten 71 runs from 47 balls and Pooran 65 runs from just 25 balls. Sydney Sixers got the target of 194 runs from 120 balls.
Josh Philippe and Jack Edwards were on the crease to chase the target. Billy Stanlake got the new ball to open. It was also not a good start for Sixer and they lost their couple of wickets at the score of 5 runs only. Sixers were under pressure but a fine inning from Daniel Hughes achieved the target. Daniel Hughes made 96 runs from 51 balls with six 4s and seven 6s. Three players of Sydney Sixers were dismissed at the Duck. Liam Hatcher took 3 wickets for Melbourne Stars.
