The 3rd or last match of the ODI series between Australia and India was played on December 2, Wednesday, at Manuka Oval, Canberra. The Australian team was leading the series by 2-0. Virat Kohli won the toss for the first time in the series and elected to bat first.  

Shubhman Gill and Shikhar Dhawan opened the inning for India. Dhawan failed to give a good start to the team and got out early on 16 runs to Sean Abbott, who was playing his 1st game of the series. Shubman Gill was looking good, and he played some quality shots that showed how talented he is. S Gill and Virat Kohli made 56 runs partnership for 2nd wicket. S Gill got out on a sweep shot to Ashton Agar on 33 runs. Shreyas Iyer came to bat at the number 4 position and made only 19 runs. He disappointed his fans with his game in the series. KL Rahul also got out early on just 5 runs. Virat Kohli batted brilliantly, but he got out to Hazlewood for the 3rd time in the series on 63 runs. India was struggling at 152/5 then, Hardik Pandya and R Jadeja made a brilliant partnership of not out 150 runs. Hardik Pandya stood one more time for India under pressure situation. H Pandya made most not out 92 runs for India in just 76 balls. R Jadeja also played big shots and made not out 66 runs in 50 balls. India made 302 runs in 1st inning. Ashton Agar took most 2 wickets for Australia.

It was a target of 303 runs for Australia to win the 3rd match of the series and clean sweep India. In the absence of David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne opened the inning with Aaron Finch. Labuschagne failed to give a good start to the team and got out on 7 runs to T Natarajan. It was his 1st wicket in international cricket. Steven Smith came to bat after the dismissal of Labuschagne. He got out early on 7 runs to Shardul Thakur. Moises Henriques and Aaron Finch made a good partnership of 61 runs for 3rd wicket. Henriques made 22 runs and got out to Shardul Thakur. Aaron Finch was playing good and made most 75 runs for Australia. R Jadeja took the important wicket of Aaron Finch for India. Glenn Maxwell showed big shots in the end and made 59 runs in just 38 balls. J Bumrah bowled Maxwell with his perfect Yorker, and that was the game-changing moment. 

Australia made 289 runs in the 2nd inning, and India won the match by 13 runs. Shardul Thakur took most 3 wickets for India. H Pandya was selected as player of the match for his brilliant knock.
