The 3rd T20 match of the World Road Safety Series was played in Mumbai, in India on 10th of March between India Legends and Sri Lanka legends. The Indians once again displayed their dominance over Sri Lanka as they won the game comfortably with 5 wickets in hand.
Toss was won by the Indian Legends and they decided that they will bowl first. The Indian squad had a lot of experience over the years to play in Mumbai. They had in and out knowledge of the pitch and had a whole lot of fans supporting them on their home-ground.
In the 1st inning, the Sri Lankans got off to a slow start and never paced up their performance. None of the batsmen displayed even a decent batting performance. No individual in the Sri Lankan batting line could take his tally above 23 runs. Two of the best scorers were Dilshan and Chamara Kapugedera as both scored 23 runs. Indian bowler Munaf Patel was praised once again for his outstanding bowling skills as he bagged 4 wickets in 4 overs, conceding only 19 runs throughout his spell. The Sri Lanka Legends were contained at a score-line of 138 runs while losing 8 wickets.
In the 2nd inning, India Legends too got off with a slow start as Tendulkar lost his wicket on a duck and Sehwag could score only 3 runs. Batsmen Mohammed Kaif and IrfanPathan piloted their squad to victory as they scored 46 runs in 45 balls and 57 runs in 31 balls respectively. None of the other batsmen could take their tally above 18 runs. Sri Lankan bowler Chaminda Vaas bagged 2 wickets in 3 overs conceding only 5 runs in his spell. It was a decent bowling performance by the Sri Lankans. The man of the match was awarded to Irfan Pathan.
