It was the 8th match of IPL 2020 played between KKR and SRH. Both teams where balanced and looking good. SRH captain David Warner won the toss and choose to bat first.

The inning of Sunrisers Hyderabad was opened by Jonny Bairstow and David Warner. They tried to have a better inning with ground shots. On the team score of 24 runs Bairstow got out and SRH has lost its first wicket in the 4th over. In 10th over at the score of 59 SRH lost second wicket in the form of Warner. However, Wriddhiman Saha and Manish Pandey managed to have some good shots. Saha made 30 runs and Pandey played an inning of 51 runs. The bowling attack of SRH was impressive and hence the score of SRH was restricted to 142 runs at a loss of 4 wickets. It was the lowest score of IPL 2020 till date. From KKR Pat Cummins, Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russel got 11 wicket each. It was not a big score and so KKR team was looking relaxed.

In the second inning, from Kolkata Knight Riders Sunil Narine and Shubman Gill opened but failed to have a better start as Narine got out early. He had to return to the pavilion with duck in the second over only. It was the score of 6 for 1 wicket for the team and hence SRH was looking confident. Nitish Rana joined Gill and they started scoring good runs. Rana made 26 runs in 13 balls and offered required boost to the team. However, at the score 43 Rana got out and Captain Dinesh Karthik came to bat. It was another blow to the team when Karthik got out at 0 only. Hence in the 7th over the team score was 53 at the loss of 3 wicket.

After the wicket of Karthik Eoin Morgan came to crease and handled the inning. He played slowly yet steadily. Morgan and Gill gradually increased the score and lead it to victory where Gill made 70 runs in 62 balls while Morgan scored 42 runs in 29 balls. After 10 overs the match was almost one sided. The bowling attack of SRH could not defend the score and hence it proved an easy win for the KKR. For his brilliant batting performance Shubman Gill was awarded as the player of the match as he alone contributed well to score of the team.
