Team CSK and DC had played the 7th match of IPL 2020 at Dubai International Stadium Dubai. Being one of the IPL title winner teams, all eyes focused on the game from the CSK side, especially from captain cool MS Dhoni. CSK won the toss and chose to field first.

From Delhi Capitals, Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan opened the inning. The opening pair played well and provided an excellent start to the team, where they made a partnership of 94 runs in 10.4 overs. In the 11th over, Dhawan Got out, and Rishabh Pant came to bat. However, on the other end, Prithvi Shaw kept on hitting hard. He played an excellent inning of 64 runs in 43 balls. After losing the wicket of Shaw captain of the team, Shreya Iyer, came to the crease and tried to get more runs. He and Pant played some classic shots. Iyer made 26 runs in 22 balls before losing his wicket. Mark Stoinis made 5 runs, and Rishabh Pant made 37 runs not out. Hence the team DC made 175 runs at the end of 20 overs, losing 3 wickets. From CSK, Piyush Chawla got the most 2 wickets. The target of 174 was not a challenging one looking at the team of CSK, and fans of CSK were thinking of an easy win.

Murali Vijay and Shane Watson opened the inning for Chennai Super Kings and tried to give a good start. However, in the fifth over, only CSK got a jolt when Watson got out at an individual score of 14 runs. The team was at 23 runs and had lost its first wicket. In the 6th over, only it lost its second wicket in the form of Murali Vijay, who could make 10 runs only, and hence it was the score of 34 at the loss of 2 wickets. From the seventh over, the series of wickets started, and no batsmen other then Faf du Plessis could score well. Only Du Plessis made 43 runs in 35 balls. MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, and Ravindra Jadeja also returned to the pavilion quickly. At the end of 20 overs, CSK could score only 137 runs at a loss of 7 wickets.  From DC, Kagiso Rabada was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets. Prithvi Shaw was awarded as the player of the match for his brilliant inning that lead the team to have a challenging score.
