It was the 16th match of IPL 2020 which was played between DC and KKR. It was played on 3rd October at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. KKR was captained by Dinesh Karthik whilE DC was under the captainship of Shreyas Iyer. KKR Captain Karthik won the toss and chose to bowl first.

From Delhi Capitals inning was opened by Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan. Both players played well with careful shot selection and provided a good and quick start to the team. DC lost its first wicket in the form of Shikhar who made 26 runs in 16 balls. The score of the team was 56/1. Shreyas Iyer came to the pitch and started playing well. Shaw and Iyer balanced the inning and made a good partnership also. Shaw made 66 runs in 41 balls before he lost his wicket in 13th over. Rishabh Pant joined Iyer, and they hit the KKR bowlers to every corner of the ground. Rishabh made 38 precious runs and gave momentum to the inning. After Pant soon Stoinis also got out. However, Iyer played a captain's inning where he made not out 88 runs in 38 balls only. Hence in 20 overs the inning of DC came to an end at 224/4. KKR was given the target of 225 to win the match. 

From Kolkata Knight Riders side Sunil Narine and Shubman Gill opened the inning but in the 2nd over only Narine got out and the score of the team was 8/1. Nitish Rana joined Gill and tried to balance the inning. Soon Shubman Gill also got out, and the pressure was increased again. Rana kept on playing good shots, but on the other side, the wickets were falling continuously. No batsmen other than Rana could do well against the bowling attack of DC bowlers. Rahul Tripathi and Eoin Morgan tried well, but all in vain as wickets were lost and the asking run rate was continually mounting. However, with the 58 runs by Rana, 44 runs by Morgan and 36 runs by Tripathi helped KKR to reach to the score of 210 at a loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Hence DC won the match by 18 runs. From Delhi Capitals Anrich Nortje displayed classic bowling performance where he got 3 wickets in his spell of 4 overs. Harshal Patel also got 2 wickets. Shreyas Iyer was declared as the man of the match for his excellent batting innings of 88 runs not out.
