The 4th T20 International between India and New Zealand was played on January 31, Friday at Wellington Regional Stadium, Wellington. India was on top in this series and dominating the series by 3-0. The Kiwi captain Kane Williamson was not playing this match; therefore, fast bowler Tim Southee led the New Zealand team in this match.

The New Zealand team won the toss and decided to field first. On batting first Indian team collapsed early and scored a total of 165 runs. Manish Pandey scored a brilliant fifty from the Indian side, and leg-break spin bowler Ish Sodhi from New Zealand took the most 3 wickets from New Zealand side.

In second inning, the Kiwi opener came to chase the target, and opener Munro played an unbelievable and beautiful inning. He scored 67 runs while the wicket Keeper batsman Seifert scored a fifty too and made 57 runs but unfortunately could not finish the game and got run out in the last over of the match.

But this performance was not enough against Indian side, and New Zealand too made a total of 165 runs. Once again in this series match was tied for second consecutive time and went into super over.

Bumrah Bowled super over for Indian team while Munro and Seifert came to bat in super over. New Zealand made 13 runs in their super over and gave a target of 14 runs to Indian team. Captain Kohli and KL Rahul came to chase the target for Indian team while New Zealand captain Tim Southee kept the bowling responsibility in his hands. Lokesh Rahul hit six on the very first ball and four on the second ball of the over. He put Southee under pressure and made it easy for Indian side to win. Kohli hit a boundary on the second last ball and won for India.

India chased the 14 runs target in 5 balls and won the match.

Shardul Thakur from India was selected as player of the match award for his all-round performance.
