Kolkata Knight Riders registered their 3rd win with style in Delhi - The defending champions of the Indian Premiere League today played against the Delhi Daredevils in the capital city of the country. The Daredevils recently came into a good form winning matches back to back. Knight Riders on the other hand were looking a strong team from the start of the tournament. In this match Kolkata Knight Riders decided to field first.

Batting first the Delhi Daredevils didn’t had a good start to the game. Mayank Agarwal and Jean Paul Duminy lost their wickets early. Agarwal score only 1 runs while Duminy scored only 5 runs. Shreyas Iyer and Manoj Tiwary stuck together for the team on crease. Iyer scored 31 runs off 24 balls before losing his wicket to Piyush Chawla. Tiwary continued scoring runs for the team along with Yuvraj Singh. Manoj scored 32 runs before losing his wicket in the 14th over. Yuvraj was looking dangerous but lost his wicket due to bad luck. He scored 21 runs before losing his wicket. Angelo Mathews turned things around for the team scoring 28 runs off 21 balls. The Kolkata Knight Riders did a good job on field to restrict Delhi at a score of 146 in 20 overs. Umesh Yadav, Morne Morkel and Piyush Chawla took 2 wickets each for the team.

The Kolkata Knight Riders needed a good start to chase down the total. Robin Uthappa after scoring only 13 runs lost his wicket. Manish Pandey the young cricketer too failed to do much with the bat as he lost his wicket without scoring a single runs. Suryakumar Yadav the young batsmen joined the captain Gautam Gambhir in the field to take their team to a score of 79/3. Yadav after scoring 24 runs lost his wicket in the 10th over to bring in Yusuf Pathan. Pathan and Gambhir guided the team to a score of 144. In the 18th over Gambhir after scoring 60 runs lost his wicket to Imran Tahir. Pathan scored 40 runs to guide the defending champion’s home. With this the team registered their 3rd win in the tournament.

Angelo Mathews won the Yes Bank maximum sixes award while Umesh Yadav was named as the man of the match.
