On 7th April 2013, the 7th match of the Indian Premier League was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium, Hyderabad. The match ended with no result and tied. Then the result was decided by super over.

In the Super over, Thisara Parera and Cameron White came onto the ground to bat first and bowling was given to Vinay Kumar. Vinay Kumar did an excellent work in the last over of the match so RCB captain showed his trust to Vinay Kumar. Now, Thisara Parera was on the strike and faced the first ball of Vinay Kumar. Vinay Kumar went for the Yorker but he lost his control and bowled a no ball. Sunrisers Hyderabad got a free hit and an extra run. So, it was 2 runs, one from no ball and one from bat. On the next ball, Cameron White hit to the long on field for a single. Now, the score was 3 runs off 1 ball. Vinay Kumar bowled the second ball very well, and gave a single. Cameron White hit a six over the long-on field on the 3rd ball. Cameron White again hit a six over the long-off field and on the 5th ball. Now, the total was 18 runs from 5 balls. On the last ball, Cameron White took a hit towards mid-wicket field and took 2 runs. In this way, Sunrisers Hyderabad set a target of 21 runs from 6 balls for Royal challengers Bangalore.

Now, Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli came onto the ground to bat and Dale Steyn got the balling responsibility. On the first ball, Chris Gayle played towards the leg side field and took a couple of runs. It was risky double runs. Dale Steyn bowled his 3rd ball on the pad of Virat Kohli and he played it fine to the fine leg and got a boundary. Now, 14 runs required from 3 balls. The fourth ball was in the block hole and Kohli could take a single. But the game was still on because Chris Gayle hit a six over the straight on the fifth ball. Now, 7 runs needed from a single ball. Chris Gayle was ready for the Yorker length ball but Dale Steyn bowled back of the length and gave only a single run on the last ball. Thus, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by 5 runs in the exciting super over. Hanuma Vihari was given the Man of the Match award for his contribution of 44 not out runs and a wicket.
