Antigua Hawksbills manage to win their last match at the CPL 2014 - The 25th match of the Caribbean Premiere League saw Antigua Hawksbills and the Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel come face to face against each other. The Hawksbills were still playing for their 1st win in the league game while the Red Steels were looking to get back their lost touch. After winning the toss the Hawksbills decided to bowl first and were successful in taking the 1st wicket in the 1st ball of the game. Soon the dangerous Ross Taylor too departed before the power play ended leaving his team to a score of 29/2. The run scoring was a bit difficult for the Red Steel as the bowling was pretty good. In the 15th over the team was at 88/5. The last 5 overs didn’t prove to be good as in just 15 balls the Red Steel managed to lose 5 wickets and scored only 113 runs in the end of the 1st innings. Evin Lewis was the highest scorer for the team scoring 38 runs. Apart from him only 3 batsmen managed to cross the double figure mark. Ben Laughlin managed to take 3 wickets giving away only 7 runs in his 3 overs.

The Hawksbills got a solid start scoring 31 runs for the 1st wicket. Marlon Samuels scored 23 runs before losing his wicket. Orlando Peters scored 19 runs while David Hussey scored 24 runs to take their team to a better position. Later Devon Thomas and Carlos Brathwaite managed to take the team home in 18.3 overs. Thus with this the Hawksbills managed to win their 1st match in the Caribbean Premiere League 2014, unfortunately though this was their last match in the CPL this year. Ben Laughlin was selected as the man of the match for his wonderful bowling.
