Bangladesh Premier Leauge aka BPL is a Bangladesh Domestic Tournaments almost similar to Indian Premier League. This will be the 3rd Edition of Bangladesh Premier League. BPL T20 2015 will start from 22 November 2015. The BPL T20 league is launched again after a hiatus of 2 years. It consists of 6 franchisee teams namely DHAKA DYNAMITES, Chittagong Vikings, Barisal Bulls, RANGPUR Riders, SYLHET superstars and COMILLA Victorians. League will be quite competitive as in the past foreign and domestic players can play as a team. Domestic cricketers from Bangladesh can learn a lot from the internationals stars and improve their game by many notches. COMILLA is the new team which is the latest addition to BPLT20.
First match will be played on 22th November 2015 between Rangpur Riders and Chittagong Vikings. BPL 2015 Final match will be played on 15th December 2015 at Shere Bangla Cricket Stadium. Full BPL 2015 schedule is officially announced and you can download the BPL 2015 schedule in pdf version. 2nd edition of BPL T20 was played in 2013 i.e. 2 years ago. You can check out the BPL 2013 Fixture here. Dhaka Gladiators won that tournament by 43 runs against Chittagong Kings. This complete BPL 2015 Tournament will be hosted in just two stadiums i.e. Shere Bangla Cricket Stadium and MA Aziz Stadium. There will be total 34 matches included Semifinals, elimiator and Final Match. All 6 teams will play total of 10 matches against each others. The matches will be played at SHER E BANGLA stadium in Dhaka and Chittagong. The 30 league matches will be hotly contested and the crowd would enjoy the competition to the hilt.
Icon players:
As far as the franchisees are concerned, each one of them is assigned an icon player. Therefore, DYNAMITES will be represented by NASIR HOSSAIN while COMILLA has MASHRAFE MURTAZA as the icon player. Similarly, the talented and experienced all rounder SHAKIB UL HASAN will spearhead Rangpur Riders while TAMIN IQBAL is the icon of Chittagong Vikings. Wicket keeper MUSHIFIQUR RAHIM and MAHMDULLAH RIYAD will be the icon player of Sylhet Super Stars and Barisal Bulls respectively.
Selection of players:
Players were selected by the team according to the lottery system. BPL avoided the bidding system. Moreover, 4 foreign players can play in each team; therefore the level of competition will be quite high. Each team can have 12 international players in their ranks.
Player’s fees:
The league will have 4 grades of players namely A, B, C and D. Cricketers belonging to a grade will get 70,000 USD while B, C and D will get 50,000, 40000 and 30000 respectively. Many international players can get more money from the franchise however they have to do it at their own risk.
Ticket Price:
One of the most important facts about the ticket is that a spectator can watch 2 matches with a single entry. There are many types of tickets with lowest priced at 200 BDT and the highest being 10,000 BDT. People can also buy tickets worth 500 and 1000 BDT.
As far as the title and stadium sponsorship is concerned, the BRB cable is managing the major portion of the expenditure.
