Following is the final Indian Team Squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

I strongly have a feeling that this time it will be India who will win this Champions Trophy and a lot more depends on Indian Bowlers who will need to bowl wisely and better than ever before.
As per me, the playing XI for India should be as below:
1. Mahendra Singh Dhoni
2. Virat Kohli
3. Shikhar Dhawan
4. Dinesh Karthik
5. Suresh Raina
6. Rohit Sharma
7. Ravindra Jadeja
8. R Ashwin
9. Umesh yadav
10. Bhubneshwar Kumar
11. Ishant Sharma

This should be perfect combination with 3 fast bowlers, two spinners, 2 part time spinners, 6 batsmen and 1 all rounder.

Wow, how did this happen?
Entire young and enthusiastic generation of cricketers for India in Champions Trophy.
No Zaheer Khan, No Praveen Kumar, No Sehwag, No Gautam Gambhir, No Yuvraj Singh.
Great selection by BCCI I must say as they have chosen the best squad based on the performance and it is good to see Dinesh Karthik making up for the squad.
This guy has some real talent but has been out of the playing XI because Dhoni has been performing for India outstandingly well and it seemed once a time that no wicket keeper batsmen can make it to playing XI until Dhoni remains in team.
It is really Dinesh's hard work and determination that he has performed well in domestic cricket and will be playing as a pure batsmen.
It will be good to see Shikhar Dhawan opening for India in ODI cricket as well and hope he can take this opportunity to the next level.
Raina, Rohit Sharma and Dhoni look good as middle order batsmen with Jadeja providing some fire power along with them in the end.
Real chances lies with bowlers as to how they capitalise on the chances being provided to them and the quicks from Umesh yadav should be pleasing in European Conditions where ball swings a lot.

Indian Team score 331 runs in 50 overs again South Africa in the 1st match of Champions Trophy 2013. Hope they will win the opening game.

Match 1 Result : India won the first match of ICC Champions trophy against South Africa by 26 runs. Shikhar Dhawan got man of the match award.
