Following is the South Africa team squad for Champions Trophy 2013. Jacques Kallis kept himself away from this tournament due to personal reasons.
It is for sure that Jacques Kallis will be missed out in this tournament.
On paper South African team looks great on paper as well on field but they have a bad habit of getting choked in the playoffs or in the eliminator.
This should be sure shot playing XI for South Africa in the Champions Trophy.
1. Hashim Amla
2. Graeme Smith
3. A B De Villiers
4. Faf Du Plessis
5. J P Duminy
6. Morne Morkel
7. Dale Steyn
8. Ryan Mclaren
9. David Miller
10. Tsotsobe
11. Robin Peterson.

This looks like a winning combination with good batsmen, pace bowlers and spinners.
Kallis place can never be filled because of his all rounder skills.

This team looks good and will definitely perform well in the upcoming championship trophy. Last day we say Australian squad and it appeared good to me and I think this is also really something good here.

Both African and Australian side looks promising to me and I think they will make a huge impact in the upcoming tournament.

Jacques Kallis dropping is no where good, but his age is coming in between his playing. I mean he is doing great in IPL, but he cannot play in continues series, in order to maintain his fitness.

On a whole this team looks great to me, but surely there may be some changes that can be done.

If someone closely look at the list, you can very well find that loss of Kallis has disturbed the composition of the team.
If South Africa plays an extra fast bowler to compensate for the loss of Kallis, their batting department looks like one batsmen short and if they play an extra batsmen to compensate for Kallis as batsmen, it looks like that their bowling department is weak with one bowler short.
This Champions Trophy, South Africa will feel the heat in search of an all mighty genuine all rounder they had since ages and they need to find a new one now.
Kallis will be definitely missed in this season.

Match 1 Result : South Africa lost the first match of ICC Champions trophy against India by 26 runs.
