Chris Gayle has now hit the fastest century in T20 Format.
He has also hit the fastest century of IPL and fastest Century of IPL 6.
What a breath taking innings he has played against Pune Warriors. Completely thrashed all the bowlers out of the park. He has also hit the longest six of the IPL 6 which was 112 meters and then broke the same record after few balls hitting another six out of the stadium which someone said that landed into Cubborn Park and the six was measured as 119 meters.
He has also hit the most number of sixes in an innings by any batsmen.
Previous record was held by Napier having hit 16 sixes but Gayle was in his own mood, he blasted 17 sixes and 13 fours in his innings of 175 not out.
He has also scored most number of runs in just boundaries which is 154 runs.
He took just 30 balls to complete his century and just 17 balls to reach his half century.
Whatever was mis-hit also went for six and there is no doubt about the ones which were cleanly hit.
He is the talk in entire world currently. What a player he has been. Every social media online is fullof him. Everbody talking about him on Facebook, everywhere tweets about him.
Just an amazing player.
Ys he is the one who thinks balls is like a ball, and only place balls deserves is outside the boundary. yes the time between the bowler balling the ball and throwing it is little boring for the Gayle.

One more thing he could do what he can do, because there are restriction from his team and i think he is the one who never guards the fort, he attacks the fort. Haaa...Kerien Pollard is also like him and if they both were in the same team, we will be seeing 300+ scores in every match. But a issue of lol would be there in test matches.

People like gayle will make test matches shorter by three days.

@skyshot: Your knowledge about cricket is good but it is getting narrower as you look like fan of a person who never played for his country but only played for his personal stats to become great. What is the arm if Pollard and Gayle plays together and score 300+ in every match. This is what public wants. This is what their nation would need of them, this is what is expected out of them and if they do it, they are very well doing their job. This is cricket. Now the issue about test match which you are talking is not at all an issue.
If Dhoni can hit double century at quick rate and Chris Gayle can hit triple century at quick rate in Test Matches, it simply means that Test Cricket will live longer than what Sachin Tendulkar fans think. Test Cricket is a 5 day game and will always be. May be in due course of time, craze for test match may come down but this is how it goes. If craze for Orkut can doe and people may shift to Facebook, so same goes for this one, people will shift to T20 instead of Tests.

Considering that your are 25, I am still lot more years behind you, and you may be knwoing more then me and would have seen Sachin playing or any other star player (Foreign too). It seems that, you were the one who was most impressed by IPL, I too, but seriously give a thought over what we like from our heart. IPL or World Cup.

I know it is really difficult to get away with thought of some player, to whom you are ardent suporter, but yes times washes memory. Now I like batting of Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh)  more than sachin, sehawag etc, but that does not mean I forget these symbols. It will take time to wash of these symbols (As gayle did to Mccullum innings), but it takes time, isn't it.

2. Reading few of your comments on this posts and others, I have reached to a conclusion that you like compairing things a lot whether it be person or tournament, isn't it? LOLZ.
3. Definitely I am not the only one impressed with IPL but mu entire flat mates are and those millions of Indians as well who tweet about IPL more often than me.
4. Straight from the heart it will always be any match between India and Pakistan whether it be series or World Cup or friendly match.
5. No my memories aren't as short or feeble as yours. I nver liked tendulkar since the start coz since I started playing cricket and watching cricket, I always got a feeling that guy never played for the team but personal records.
I was fan of Robin Singh earlier, followed by Sehwag and now Dhoni.
It's not that my choice changes. It's that I know what player to adapt with and who is giving and contributing more.

1) Talking about comparisons, you may be not right every where.
2) What I like about IPl is its domiance over other boards and I happy to see dominance of India product over foreign, right after the IT sector (Let me Guess, you will be working in MNC) .
3) IPL is Indian first ingenuously made product (not outsourcing).
4) Same here, but addiationaly any game betwen minnows like Bangladesh, kenya, Ireland etc.
5) I never liked Sachin nor Dhoni (In fact I am Formula 1 lover). As far as sachin is concerned (I like because, he has provided the India a image of Brand, ask US and Europe Union ).
6) Dhoni is a leader, not a player, no offence here. But it is there, it is there.



7) Forum has come to live, isn't.  Monopoly is in danger.

If you really don't like someone, kindly do not talk about him/her so much. They may feel bad.

Those who would have watched this match LIVE from the stadium and being Royal Challengers Bangalore supporter, they would have just witnessed the best hitting skills of leather ball that day.

Chris Gayle just went bizarree that day and cloberred all the bowlers except Bhubneshwar Kumar and Luke Wright all over the park such that 3 balls disappreared out of the ground.

If he was dismissed that day before getting to the century, he would have had the record of fastest half century as well for IPL season which came of just 17 balls and then he went on from his fifties to hundredths in just 30 balls and got the fastest century.

If there is anybody who can now break this record of Chris Gayle, it is only one man on this planet and that is Chris Gayle himself.

I don't see this record getting broken anyday now for sure.

This man has got some real big hitting skills as it can be matter of just luck to hit 17 sixes in an innings of T20 match where an entire team think twice before hitting 17 six all together.

It was not just sixes but also 13-14 boundaries hit by him in the same inning which clearly indicates that he was not just slogging but playing some real cricket out there.

I just wish I was there in Bengaluru to witness the assult of Gayle on Pune Warriors.
