It is interesting to read as this series got the name- Ashes. Well this is talk of the times 1882, at ovals. Australia and England were playing. Australian side reported first victory on the English Land, and hence the newspapers reported that English cricket has died and the ashes of ball will be taken to Australia. From that very time, this series got its name as Ashes.
Host is changed every year, in order. Till now both the countries have won 31 series each, so there is a tie. On the other hand, only 5 series have drawn till now. Most runs are scored by Sir Don Bradman and highest wicket taker is Shane Warne. So over the years this series has become more famous and enjoyably. It is said that the 2005 series was something that left memories for this old series and everybody believes that it was very good and fantastic series to see. Because after 18 years, the Ashes trophy came back to home and that was year 2005. And there were some very close matches in that series. Every year records are seen and they are broken on the same. It is indeed a series that everybody wants to see.
