1. Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle created the record of making the fastest 50 in an ODI for West Indies and he achieved this record in just 19 balls while performing against England at Gros Islet in 2019. England went to West Indies to play a 5 ODI series in 2019. In the last match of that series, England was bowled out at 113 only while batting first. West Indies did not face any hurdles in chasing down the target where Gayle had already struck 77 runs including his fastest 50 in 19 balls. 

 

2. Darren Sammy

Former West Indies captain Darren Sammy holds the record of achieving the second-fastest half-century for his team. This notable feat occurred during the second One Day International (ODI) match of a five-match series against South Africa, where the opposition scored a total of 300 runs on the scoreboard. In reply, West Indies got a good start but later its middle order failed. But in the end, Darren Sammy came out to the middle and launched some powerful hits and made a 20 ball half-century but could not save the match.

 

3. Brain Lara

The left-handed batter of West Indies, Brian Lara holds the record of making the 3rd fastest half-century in ODI for his team. During the ICC World Cup 2003, Brian Lara achieved this feat while playing against Canada in the 24th Match in Centurion. Canada got the chance to bat first and they added 202 runs. In reply, West Indies easily reached the target in 20.3 overs with the help of Lara’s 73 runs in 40 balls including his quickest 50 in 23 balls only. 

 

4. Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard is standing at the number 4th position for making the fastest 50 in ODI for West Indies. He made this impressive effort in just 23 balls while playing against the Netherlands in the 13th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in Delhi. West Indies batted first and added 330 runs where Pollard in the middle order struck 60 in just 27 balls and also made the record of the 4th fastest 50 for West Indies in an ODI.
