New Zealand survive the tense moments to win the match against Australia - The 20th match of the tournament was between two of the strongest teams of the World Cup 2015. The two hosts came face to face in a Pool A match as Australia took on New Zealand. This game was promised to be a great one as both the teams are considered as the strongest contenders of the cup this year. Winning the toss Australians took no time in deciding to bat first.

Batting first Aaron Finch after scoring only 14 runs lost his wicket in the 3rd over as the team was on 30 runs. Later David Warner and Shane Watson took the team together to a score of 80 runs 13th over. Watson after scoring 23 runs lost his wicket. It was this wicket which broke all the barriers for New Zealand. The kiwi bowlers made merry and came hard at the team. The team lost some quick wickets and was restricted to 97/6 in no time. Bradd Haddin scored 43 runs and took the team to a score of 151 runs in 34th over as the team was bowled out. Tim Boult took 5 wickets once again in the match to provide the team a better position in the match.

New Zealand were successful in pushing the Australians to the back foot. Now it was onto the batsmen to take them home easily. The openers made sure that the team had a good start as they reached the score of 78 runs in just 8 overs. It was here when Brendon McCullum after scoring 50 runs lost his wicket. This opened a small route for Australian bowlers to strike and they did came hard on the team that was cruising. At the end of the game it was New Zealand team who required only 6 runs to win with 4 wickets in hand but Australians took 3 wickets and just as it looked the Kiwi were having it easily but late hiccups were managed by Kane Williamson who managed to take the team home with unbeaten 45 runs. It was one heck of a match with kiwi’s winning it with 1 wicket. Mitchell Starc took 6 wickets in the game. Tim Boult was named as the man of the match.
