Chennai emerged as winner in a close fought contest against Hyderabad - The 10th match of the tournament saw two Indian teams come face to face against each other. it was a match played between the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. the match was played at the JSCA Ranchi stadium. Sunrisers after winning the toss decided to field first. they struck gold in the very first ball as Murali Vijay lost his wicket in the very first ball of the match. Mike Hussey and Suresh Raina managed to build a partnership but that didn’t last long as in the 7th over Hussey lost his wicket after scoring 23 runs. S Badrinath and Raina took the team ahead in a style as Raina did all the scoring. Badrinath lost his wicket in the 15th over of the game after scoring 13 runs. this fall of wicket brought in the most dangerous player on crease Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Raina after scoring 84 runs in just 57 balls lost his wicket in the 19th over. Dhoni once again acted as the top finisher as he scored 63 runs in 19 balls taking his team to a total of 202 in 20 overs.

The Sunrisers this time got a good start once again from there openers as the opening stand was of 87 runs in just 9.2 overs. Parthiv Patel was the 1st to go after scoring 37 runs. the good start was not capitalized as team after being at 87/0 went into 106/4. Dhawan managed to score 48 runs before losing his wicket. Darren Sammy tried hard to take their to team to winning total and scored 50 off just 25 balls but failed in his mission of scripting a win. The Sunrisers managed to score only 190 runs thus losing the match by 12 runs. Suresh Raina was named as the man of the match for his brilliant batting.
