New Zealand comes out victorious against a tough Scottish side - The 6th match of the world cup 2015 saw the host nation come up against Scotland. New Zealand the favourites of the cup took the Scottish side. These matches are always interesting as the associate nations have time and again proved to surprise the big teams over and over again.in this match that was played at University Oval in Dunedin, New Zealand won the toss and decided to field first.

Batting first the Scottish failed an uphill task as they got a drastic start to the game. First 4 wickets of the team were lost for only 12 runs in 5th over of the game. It seemed that the New Zealanders will be having it easy but Matt Machan and Richie Berrington had other things in mind. They together took the team to a score of 109 runs in 28th over which helped them in putting some score for the bowlers. Machan after scoring 56 runs lost his wicket while Berrington scored 50 runs before losing his wicket. The remaining team fell up early again without providing any resistance as the team was bowled out at 142 runs in just 37th over. Corey Anderson and Daniel Vettori took 3 wickets each for the team.

Ross Taylor too failed to score much and lost his wicket after scoring only 9 runs. Kane Williamson and Grant Elliott stitched together a partnership to take the team to 117 runs in 21 overs. It seemed that the match would be turning out into a thriller but the lower order made sure that there are no more surprises and the score was chased down easily in just 25 overs with 3 wickets remaining. The Scottish side made all the efforts to make it tough for the host nation and showed some character. Trent Boult was named as the man of the match as New Zealand now won 2 games in Pool A.
