New Zealand vs West Indies ODI Series 2013-2014 Schedule

The ODI Series of New Zealand and West Indies is just the 8th time that these two teams are gearing up for a One Day Internationals series clash. Consider the amount of cricket that the modern day cricketers play, it is quite astonishing to see that these two teams have met only on so many less number of locations. West Indies, the team that was once feared like hell and by all and on the other hand there is New Zealand who always has the capability to get big wins under their names. The nation of West Indies has won 5 times out of the 7 meetings that they have had in the past. The team has triumphed with great attention in both West Indies soil and New Zealand soil.

The West Indians will be down there in the land of the Kiwi’s during the last month of the year and the initial part of 2014 playing a total of 3 test matches, 2 T20 matches and 5 One Day Matches. The West Indians will be flying from India to New Zealand after completing a series in India and New Zealand are presently playing against Bangladesh in Bangladesh. Thus both the teams will be heading into the series after playing some game in the slow and low pitches of the Subcontinent. Many experts are thinking that the Kiwi’s will have a great advantage with some of their key players will be getting some rest before the series begins. But one the other hand one must not doubt the capabilities of this present West Indian team and more importantly, the players will be in match practice.

The series will begin of 26th of December with the first ODI at Eden Park, followed by matches at McLean Park, Queenstown Events Centre, Saxton Oval and Seddon Park on 29 Dec., 1st, 4th and 8th Jan respectively. There is no doubt of the fact that under the chilly and swinging conditions of New Zealand, the West Indians might just struggle a little bit one must also keep in mind the small size of the stadiums in New Zealand. The brute force that most of the West Indian players are gifted with can be dangerous any instant and small grounds would only aggravate concerns. The New Zealand is likely to be retained from the one playing in Bangladesh presently. The West Indian Team for the series is also expected to be the similar to the one that they played in the Champions trophy. New Zealand is just ranked at one spot greater that the West Indies which gives the battle everything to die for.
