Uthura Rudras is one of the seven first class domestic cricket teams which were been formed for participation in Sri Lankan Premier League. The team represents Northern Province and has been formed in the year 2012 along with Sri Lankan Premier League. The team is owned by Rudra Sports Private Limited and is based in Dambulla city. The team possesses Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium as their home ground. The team has been purchased by Rudras by bidding $3.4 million and they have received its ownership for next seven years. The team current captain of the team is Jehan Mubarak and Australian legend Tom Moody has been appointed as the head coach of the team. The team was initially known as Uthura Oryxes.
