Red Steel Bowlers send Zouks out of the tournament - St Lucia Zouks hosted the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steels in one of the most important match of the Caribbean Premiere League. It was the last match of the league stage for the Zouks and it was a must win game for the survival in the tournament. while a win for the Red Steels would have meant that they have a better chance in making it to the knock out stages. The Red Steel’s after winning the toss decided to field first. the decision of fielding first was made because if the wet conditions. The decision proved correct as the Zouks found run making a difficult task at hand. They managed to score only 99 runs in 20 overs while batting first. the top scorer from the team was Andre Fletcher scoring 46 runs in 59 balls. other than him no batsman was able to make his mark. Sulieman Benn was the pick of the bowler as he gave away 11 runs in his 4 overs while Samuel Badree took 2 wickets giving 18 runs.

The Trinidad and Tobago team got a great start chasing this small total as they scored 56 runs in 9 overs losing Kevin O’Brien. Before losing his wicket to Tino Best O’Brien managed to score 37 important runs. later small contributions from the top order took the team past the required score. Dwayne Bravo hit a 6 to cross the target and thus sent the Zouks packing bags from the tournament. Badree for his bowling performance won the man of the match award. The Red Steel with a game in hand is almost through to the next round of the tournament.
