Gayle and Russell help Tallawahs win the CPL 2013 - The final of the Caribbean Premiere League for 2013 season saw two best teams compete against each other. The Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs after hard fought league stage entered into the finals to fight it out for the ultimate glory. After winning the toss the Tallawahs decided to field first. The Warriors saw the fall of two quick wickets. The 2 wickets that fell included the wicket of dangerous batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan; he was bowled out for a duck in the important final. It was Lendl Simmons and Denesh Ramdin who slowly but steadily tried to make a comeback in the match. The Warriors found it difficult to score runs against a well-disciplined bowling line up. At the end of 20 overs the Warriors managed to score only 128 runs. Simmons was the top scorer in the team who scored 40 runs in 44 balls. Muttiah Muralitharan bowled brilliantly creating pressure in his 4 overs giving away only 13 runs. <br><br>The Jamaica Tallawahs were 129 runs shy of getting the title and Chris Gayle chose this as an occasion to bat the team out till the final run is scored. He acted as an anchor in the innings. He played an innings of 47 runs which he scored in 48 balls. During his innings he saw his counterpart come and go. At the end it was yet again Andre Russell who managed to score some quick runs for his team. He managed to score 33 runs off 18 balls to win the championship for his team. With this win the team won the CPL title and Chris Gayle was named the player of the match. Krishmar Santokie was named the player of the series.
