Stylish Sangakkara guides Tallawahs to the Final of CPL - The 2nd Semi Final of the Caribbean Premiere League saw the two giants Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents came face to face. The Tallawahs after winning the toss put Trident’s to bat. Though the start was not good enough for the team as the very first ball of the 2nd over saw the exit of Dwayne Smith. Soon after 6 balls the 2nd wicket also fell leaving the team to a score of 6/2. It was Raymon Reifer and Shoaib Malik who controlled the sinking ship. Both the players stitched together a 100 run partnership. The 17th over of the game saw both the batsman lose their wickets. Malik just missed out on a half century as he lost his wicket on 49. Kieron Pollard looked dangerous towards the end but a magnificent run out by Andre Russell got him out. At the end of 20 overs the team managed to score 148 runs. Chris Gayle was the top bowler of the day as he took a wicket giving away only 14 runs in 3 overs.

Gayle this time was unable to show his strengths with the bat as he lost his wicket in the 4th over of the game. Chadwick Walton and Kumar Sangakkara together made a 71 run stand to take the control of the match to their team. Walton scored 45 runs while Sangakkara scored 50 runs. But the highlight of the match was the 6 ball innings from Andre Russell. He in these 6 balls scored 29 runs. The Tallawahs marched into the finals with three consecutive sixes hit by Russell.
