Misbah-ul-Haq guides the Zouks to their first CPL victory - The Guyana Amazon Warriors hosted their third home match in the Caribbean Premiere League against the St Lucia Zouks. In this match the Amazon warriors were forced to bat first as the Zouks won the toss and elected to field first. Bowling first the team got its first success in the 5th over of the game. Martin Guptill after scoring 12 runs lost his wicket to Garey Mathurin. Mohammad Hafeez too managed to score only 13 runs but he lost his wicket lo Shane Shillingford. Soon the visiting team manage to take some quick wickets as from 73/2 the team reached a score of 84/6. It was Denesh Ramdin and Christopher Barnwell who helped the team reached a respectable score of 126 runs. Lendl Simmons was the top scorer who scored 38 runs and Barnwell scored 29 runs. Shillingford managed to take 3 wickets giving away 23 runs.

The team from St Lucia didn’t start off well as they scored only 22 runs in 4 overs losing 1 wicket. In the 6th over the team also lost the important wicket of Herschelle Gibbs leaving the team to a score of 29/2. Andre Fletcher one of the most important batsmen of the team after scoring 23 runs lost the wicket in the 10th over of the innings. After the fall of 3rd over, Misbah-ul-Haq and Devon Smith managed to stitch together a 40 run partnership. At the score of 88 the 4th wicket of the team fell in the form of Smith. Darren Sammy and Misbah at the end guided the Zouks to their first win in the CPL. With this win of 5 wickets the team earned the important 2 points. Misbah-ul-Haq was awarded the man of the match award for the lovely batting performance which guided his team to a victory.
