The 2nd T20I match of the Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe 2021 bilateral series was played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 19 March 2021. Afghanistan had already won the first match of the 3 T20 matches series between Afg and Zim and was leading the series by 1-0. The leg spinner, Rashid Khan, was going to show his talent in his 50th T20 International match. Both the teams came out to the ground with their unchanged playing 11s. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to have the bat in hand first. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Usman Ghani were sent to the crease and Sikandar Raza got the new ball in hand to open the attack.

At the beginning of the inning, Afghanistan lost the first wicket of Rahmanullah Gurbaz very early at 9 runs only, he was dismissed by Richard Ngarava in 1.2 overs. After the dismissal, Karim Janat came out to the middle to join Usman Ghani. Both the batsmen handled the situation nicely and had made 49 runs at the end of the first Powerplay. Afghanistan recovered very soon and gave a good start in spite of 1 early wicket. Afghanistan completed the first 100 runs in 11.1 overs. Zimbabwe needed a wicket but Usmani & Karim was playing superbly and completed their 2nd wicket partnership of 100 runs off 63 balls. In 11.6 overs, Usman was dismissed by Donald Tiripano, he was at 49 and missed his fifty. Karim played well and struck his first fifty of his T20I career from 31 balls. After the dismissal of Karim, Mohammad Nabi played some great shots and made 40 runs very quickly from just 15 balls that helped the Afghanistan team to put a total of 193 runs on the scoreboard. Zimbabwe needed 194 runs from 120 balls to win the 2nd T20I Afg vs Zim match.

Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Tarisai Musakanda walked out to the middle to chase the target and Naveen-ul-Haq got the responsibility of the new ball. Zimbabwe started very poorly and lost the first wicket of Tinashe Kamunhukamwe at the very first ball of the inning. Afterward, Sean Williams, the captain himself came out to the middle to handle the situation but could not stay longer and was sent back by Mohammad Nabi in 1.2 overs. Zimbabwe had lost 2 wickets at the score of 11 runs only and needed a partnership. The top order and middle order were completely demolished by the Afghan bowlers. Ryan Burl at number 7 position tried well and made 40 runs but could not stay longer and was sent back by Rashid Khan. Afterward, the entire Zimbabwe squad was bowled out at 148 runs only and lost the match and series. With that win, Afghanistan also won the 3 T20I matches series in UAE.

Afghanistan won the 2nd T20 match of the Afg vs Zim series by 45 runs and Mohammad Nabi was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance, he took 2 wickets and made 40 runs.
