The 2nd match of the CPL 2020 was played between Barbados Tridents and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on August 18, Tuesday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad at 5:30 PM Local. 

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the toss and decided to field first. Jason Holder captained the Barbados team and Rayad Emrit captained the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Barbados Tridents openers failed to give good start to team and the team lost both the openers at very early of the innings. Captain Holder played beautiful cricket and made not out 38 runs on just 22 balls that helped team to get a defendable total of 153 runs. Kyle Mayers also scored 37 runs. Rashid Khan scored not out 26 runs and finished the Barbados inning. Captain Emrit, Sheldon Cottrell and Sohail Tanvir took 2 wickets each.

It was a target of 154 runs for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Chris Lynn got out early on just 19 runs. Australian batsman Ben Dunk scored 34 runs in just 21 balls. Sohail Tanvir also scored not our 16 runs but it was too late. Joshua Da Silva scored 41 runs on 41 balls and played a very slow cricket which resulted in the defeat of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots could only reach up to 147 runs in their 20 over and Barbados Tridents won the game by 6 runs.

Kiwi left arm spin bowler Mitchell Santner gave only 18 runs and took 2 important wickets of Chris Lynn and Ben Dunk in his 4 overs. Rashid Khan also took 2 wickets. Mitchell Santner was selected as player of the match for his brilliant performance in the match. He took 2 wickets and also scored 20 runs. It was a complete team effort of Barbados Tridents which helped them to reach the victory.
