The 29th T20 match of the KFC Big Bash League 2020-21 was fought between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades at Adelaide Oval on 5 Jan 2021. Adelaide Strikers won the toss and they decided to bat first. DJ Worrall & HJ Nielsen were X-factor subs for the Strikers, and P Hatzoglou and W Sutherland for the Renegades. Matt Renshaw and Phil Salt were sent to open the bat for Adelaide. The new ball was given to Imad Wasim.

It was a slow start and Adelaide also lost the first wicket at the score of 14 runs in the 4th over. Adelaide Strikers made 22 runs at the end of mandatory power play. But Renshaw and Alex Carey handled the situation and made a partnership of 54 runs. Strikers lost their 3 wickets between 68 to 72 runs. But Jake Weatherald played well and made 51 runs from just 25 balls. That helped Adelaide to get a total of 171 runs. Imad Wasim and Kane Richardson bowled well for their team and dismissed 4 crucial batsmen of Strikers. Renegades needed 172 runs from 120 balls to win the match.

Aaron Finch and Mackenzie Harvey came on the crease to chase the target. Harry Conway was given the new ball to open attack. Harry gave a brilliant start and dismissed Aaron Finch at the first ball. Mackenzie and Harper tried to control the situation. Both batsmen added 67 runs but Agar and Briggs sent them back. No batsmen after Harper and Mackenzie could do well and all players of the Renegades were bowled out at 111 runs.

Thus, Strikers won the match by 60 runs and Ryan Gibson was given the Man of the Match title. Peter Siddle and Wes Agar bowled well and dismissed 6 players of the opposition.
