The 2nd game of the Road Safety Series was played between Sri Lanka Legends and Australia on the 8th of March in Mumbai. It was a nail-biting encounter as Sri Lanka Legends won the match by a mere 7 runs.

The Sri Lankans won the toss and elected to bat first. Captain Tillakaratne Dilshan was able to score only 18 runs before being sent back to the pavilion. Romesh Kaluwitharana (30 runs in 26 balls) and Chamara Kapugedera (28 runs in 18 balls) showed decent batting performances. None of the other batsmen from Sri Lanka Legends were able to score more than a total of 20 runs. As for the Australians, Jason Krejza, Xavier Doherty and legend Brad Hodge were able to gather two wickets each while Clint McKay and Mark Cosgrove both took a wicket. The Sri Lankans were wound up with a decent score of 161 runs playing all 20 overs.

The 2nd inning saw an average batting performance by the Australian Legends. No batsmen were able to sum up a tally of more than 15 runs apart from Nathon Reardon who scored a whopping 96 runs in just 53 balls. He hit a total of 9 boundaries and 5 amazing sixes and fell just 4 runs short of completing his ton before being caught out. An overall weak batting performance by the Aussies and a strong bowling performance by the Sri Lankans halted the score-line at a total of 154 runs which fell short by 7 runs.

Tillakaratne Dilshan delivered an amazing bowling performance taking 3 wickets. Farveez Maharoof and Rangana Herath took a couple of wickets each while Chaminda Vaas and Sachitra Senanayake both managed to get a wicket each. The only disappointment in the bowling line up was that Muttiah Muralitharan did not take any wicket. Man of the match was awarded to Tillakaratne Dilshan.
