Bangladesh emerge victorious in the 1st ODI against Pakistan - The 1st ODI match of the three match ODI series between Bangladesh and Pakistan was played in Mirpur. The Bangladesh cricket team started as the favorites in the series. After winning the toss they decided to bat first in their home condition.

Batting first the team didn’t start off good as the opening pair of Soumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal gave the team a start of only 48 runs. Soumya Sarkar the Bangladesh opener lost his wicket after scoring only 20 runs. Mahmudullah scored only 5 runs before losing his wicket in the 20th over. Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim played one of the best innings and took the team to a good position. Iqbal scored 132 runs in 135 balls hitting 15 4’s and 3 6’s. Rahim scored 106 runs in 77 balls. These two batsmen lost their wicket in search of some quick runs. Shakib Al Hasan came in the 42nd over and scored 31 runs off 27 balls. Sabbir Rahman ended the innings scored 15 runs in 7 balls as the team ended their innings at 329 runs. Wahab Riaz took 4 wickets in the game for Pakistan.

Pakistan side needed good start in order to chase down the score. Sarfraz Ahmed and Azhar Ali scored 53 runs in 11th over. Sarfraz Ahmed scored 24 runs before losing the wicket. The Bangladesh side struck again as Mohammad Hafeez was run out due to some great fielding. Haris Sohail came along to bat with Ali and took the team to a score of 148 runs. Ali scored 72 runs before losing his wicket. Sohail too lost his wicket after scoring 51 runs. Mohammad Rizwan was the only batsman in the lower order to score 7 runs while the others lose their wickets pretty easily. The Pakistan cricket team was able to score only 250 runs. Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny took 3 wickets as Bangladesh won the match with a margin of 79 runs.
Mushfiqur Rahim was named as the man of the match for scoring some quick runs, as they were able to reach the score of more than 300 runs.
