Chennai registers a win against Bangalore due to a terrific bowling performance - The 2nd match of the day was being played in Bangalore where Royal Challengers Bangalore was facing a tough challenge from the Chennai Super Kings. This match was essential for the Royals as they were lying in the bottom of the table. Chennai on the other hand were coming from a defeat and were looking to get back into the winning ways. After winning the toss Royals decided to field first.

They got their first success while bowling first in the 2nd over taking the wicket of Brendon McCullum. He scored only 4 runs before losing his wicket to Yuzvendra Chahal. This brought in Suresh Raina who played a good role in playing with Dwayne Smith. Both the batsmen took the team to a total of 70 runs in 9 overs. Smith scored 39 runs before losing his wicket. Later Raina blasted all his cylinders hitting the ball out of the park. He scored 62 runs off 32 balls hitting 6 sixes in a match. Later Faf du Plessis who was demoted down the order came into score 33 runs off 18 balls as Chennai were able to post a total of 181 runs. Chahal was pick of the bowler as he took 3 wickets in this match.

The Royal Challenges were a good side and were a team to chase down the total easily. The opening pair failed in this match as Manvinder Bisla lost his wicket after scoring only 17 runs. Rilee Rossouw too was not able to score a good amount of runs losing his wicket after scoring only 14 runs. Virat Kohli played his part in the innings as he scored 51 runs in 42 balls but he didn’t find support from his team. The players were not able hold their wicket against a tough bowling line-up. The Bangalore side lost 8 wickets and were able score only 154 runs. Ashish Nehra was the pick of the bowlers as he took 4 wickets giving away only 10 runs.

Suresh Raina was named as the man of the match and he also won the Yes Bank Maximum sixes award.
