David Warner takes his team to victory in a rain interrupted match - The Indian Premier League saw the 19th game of the season 8 being played in Visakhapatnam. This match was being played between the hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. The defending champions have been in a good form lately while the SRH have been struggling to get their batting in correct order. In this match after winning the toss KKR decided to field first.

The decision at toss tuned out to be a wrong one for the visitors as the opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner gave their team a dream start. They scored 130 runs for the 1st wicket as Warner scored 91 runs in just 55 balls before losing his wicket. Morne Morkel was the man who provided the 1st breakthrough for the team. He once again struck in the next over as he took the wicket of Ravi Bopara who scored only 2 runs. Dhawan too lost his wicket after scoring 54 runs. The KKR were making a good comeback in the match and this eventually resulted in SRH being restricted to a score of only 176 in 20 overs. Morkel was the best bowler for the team as he took 2 wickets giving away 31 runs in his 4 overs.

The second innings was disrupted due to a rain interruption and this bought in the D/L method into play. The match was reduced to 12 overs and the target was revised to just 112 runs. This was tough ask for the KKR in changed condition. Robin Uthappa provided the perfect start to the team scoring 34 runs in 21 balls. Andre Russell came into bat at 2 down and turned the chase in favour of KKR scoring 19 runs in 10 balls. He lost his wicket in the 9th over leaving his team cruising at 80/3 but the SRH then tightened the screws restricted the team at 101 in 12 overs. Manish Pandey remained unbeaten at 33 but it was not enough as KKR faced a loss.

David Warner was named as the man of the match and he also won the Yes Bank Maximum Sixes award for hitting 4 sixes.
