Rajasthan Royals continue their winning run against Chennai Super Kings - The 15th match of the Indian Premier league was played between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. It was a match played in Ahmedabad as Rajasthan Royals were hosting the most consistent team. It was a clash of the titans as top 2 teams were coming face to face. After winning the toss Chennai decided to bat first.

Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum gave the team a great start in the previous match but today they failed to do so as McCullum after scoring 12 runs lost his wicket in the 3rd over of the game. The Royals made great dent in the Chennai batting line-up as they took 2 more quick wickets leaving the team at 39/3. Smith after playing a knock off 40 runs also lost his wicket. In this innings he crossed the boundary 5 times which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Dwayne Bravo and Mahendra Singh Dhoni were at crease with 11 overs to go. They controlled the flow of runs and brought back the team on track. Bravo played a vibrant innings scoring 62 runs off 36 balls. He brought the much needed pace to the innings as the run-rate increased for the team. Dhoni on the other hand was playing an anchor role as he scored 31 runs. Royals bowled well in the depth overs to restrict the Chennai Super Kings at a par score of 156.

The Royals needed to bat well in order to chase the total down in front of a strong bowling line up of Chennai. Shane Watson replaced Sanju Samson as opener and came along with Ajinkya Rahane. They openers made merry in a good batting track as they gave the team a dream start. The openers had a partnership of 144 runs while chasing 157 runs. Rahane scored 76 unbeaten runs while Watson lost his wicket after scoring 73 runs off 47 balls. The duo ended the match for the Chennai team as the Royals emerged victorious in only 18.2 overs.

Ajinkya Rahane was named as the man of the match while Shane Watson won the Yes Bank Maximum sixes award.
