Kolkata Knight Riders completes Revenge against Chennai in their home match - The 30th match of the Indian Premiere League saw the two most successful teams playing against each other for the 2nd time in the gap of 1 day. This match was being played in the Eden Gardens in Kolkata as Kolkata Knight Riders took on Chennai Super Kings. The last match saw CSK emerge victorious in a low scoring match. It was a payback match for the home team. After winning the toss yet again KKR chose to field first.

Batting first Pat Cummins took the wicket of Dwayne Smith in the very first ball of the game. Suresh Raina and Brendon McCullum came opened their cylinders. McCullum was the aggressor in this partnership. Raina after scoring only 8 runs lost his wicket in the 4th over of the game leaving the team at 43/2. McCullum scored 32 runs off 12 balls before losing his wicket in the 6th over to Bradd Hogg. The spinner took the wicket of Faf du Plessis in the same over giving KKR an edge in the match. Piyush Chawla the star spinner of the last match gave his team the prized wicket of Mahendra Singh Dhoni who was able to score only 1 run. CSK were at 72/5 in 7 overs and Dwayne Bravo took over along with Ravindra Jadeja. These two batsmen scored 30 and 24 runs respectively. Pawan Negi scored 27 runs as CSK posted 165 runs in 20 overs. Hogg took 4 wickets in the match.

KKR had a competitive score to chase against CSK this time around. Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa scored 33 runs in first 4 overs. Gambhir after scoring 19 runs lost his wicket. Manish Pandey too was unable to do much as he lost his wicket after scoring 3 runs. Suryakumar Yadav too was a fail in this match as he scored only 2 runs. it seemed the CSK were making a comeback but Uthappa and Andre Russell finished the game for CSK. Uthappa scored 80 runs in the match while Andre Russell scored 55 runs in 32 balls as KKR won the match with 1 ball remaining.

Andre Russell won the man of the match award and he also won the Yes bank Maximum award. he also claimed the HotStar of the match award.
