Morne Morkel leads South Africa to a victory in the 2nd ODI - The Australians and the South Africans has always created a match worth remembering. These cricket matches are not just matches but are epic clashes between the two best teams of the world. The 1st ODI was won by Australia and it was a high scoring encounter. The 2nd ODI was played at the WACA in Perth and in this match Australia after winning the toss decided to bat first.

Batting first the home team had to face to setbacks as the openers lost both the openers in just 5 overs of the match. There was no respite for the home team as the Australians were reduced to 34/4 in just 12 overs of the game. George Bailey and Mitchell Marsh then put up a 58 run partnership together taking the score to 92 runs in 26 overs. It was here when Bailey after scoring 25 runs lost his wicket and brought in Mathew Wade on the crease. He stayed there along with Marsh and scored 19 runs. Marsh played an outstanding knock of 67 runs while Wade scored 19 runs. The lower order was not able to survive the lethal attack and hence the Australians ended up their innings at a score of 154 runs. Morne Morkel took 5 wickets giving away 21 runs.

The South Africans chasing a small total too lost both the openers early in the game in the 7th over. A partnership between Faf du Plessis and Rilee Rossouw took the team to a total of 64 in 14 overs. Rossouw after scoring 30 runs lost his wicket and brought in AB de Villiers to the crease. He maintained the flow of the run. In the 20th over of the game du Plessis lost his wicket when the team had reached 113 runs. AB de Villiers took the score to 141 runs in 26th over and lost his wicket after he had scored 48 runs. Later the team won comfortably as David Miller scored 22 runs to take the team cross the boundary line. Josh Hazlewood took 5 wickets in the match. With this win the South Africans came back in the series leveling it 1-1. Morne Morkel was named as the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling.
