The Barbados Tridents win the match with the help of some good bowling - The Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel faced the Barbados Tridents in the 23rd match of the Caribbean Premiere League. The team from the Trinidad & Tobago was the best team in the tournament and was the table toppers before the start of the game. After winning the toss the Red Steel decided to field first. They got their 1st success by taking the important wicket of Dwayne Smith in the 1st ball of the 2nd over. Just in the 6th over of the game the Red Steel got their 2nd success by taking the wicket of William Perkins after he scored 24 runs. Shoaib Malik has been the most consistent batsman for the Tridents and he played a knock of 35 runs. Later Raymon Reifer played a knock of 65 runs in 41 balls whereas Kieron Pollard helped him out with a blasting innings of 34 runs in 15 balls. These players together made sure that their team reached a score of 174 runs in 20 overs. Samuel Badree took 2 wickets in 4 overs.

The Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel lost the 1st 4 wickets in the first 7 overs of the innings. The team lost Kevin O’Brien, Ross Taylor and Dwayne Bravo cheaply. Later Darren Bravo and Nicolas Pooran tried to steady the ship and had a good partnership going for the 5th wicket. Bravo lost his wicket in the 12th over of the game. In the 13th over of the game Pooran too lost his wicket after scoring 33 runs. Later it was a downfall for the team as the rest of the 4 wickets were lost quickly and the whole team was bowled out at 105 runs in the 17th over. The Barbados Tridents won the match by 69 runs. Jason Holder took 4 wickets and Rayad Emrit took 3 wickets. Holder was named as the man of the match for his bowling performance.
