A good batting performance from the Tridents won the match for them - The 17th match of the Caribbean Premiere League featured the St Lucia Zouks and the Barbados Tridents. The Zouks in the tournament have failed to register a single win and they were looking for a win in the match to ensure their existence in the tournament. After winning the toss the Zouks decided to bat first. They didn’t get off to a good start as they lost 3 quick wickets in the first 2 overs of the game. Later Johnson Charles and Liam Sebastian controlled the innings. They scored the runs at a quick rate and made sure that the team recovers after a poor start. Charles lost his wicket after scoring 50 runs in the 14th over of the game. Sohail Tanvir played a major role in scoring a great amount of runs he scored 50 runs in just 19 balls. the Zouks ended their innings at a score of 167 runs in the end of 20 overs. Shoaib Malik was the most economical bowler for the team as he gave only 16 runs in 3 overs.

The Barbados Tridents too lost their first wicket in the very first over. this was an important wicket of Dwayne Smith. The first 6 overs was a Jason Holder show as he scored some good runs batting at number 3. He scored 48 runs which was his highest carrier score. Shoaib Malik too scored 22 runs and tools the team closer to the required score. Wickets kept falling constantly later Kieron Pollard scored 37 runs and was unbeaten. He was the man for the Tridents who took their team cross the required score with 2 balls remaining. Thus the Tridents won the most important 2 points. Ray Jordan took 3 wickets in the match for the Zouks. Jason Holder was named as the man of the match.
