Jamaica Tallawahs emerge victorious in a close match - The 9th match of the CPL saw the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs come face to face. The Guyana Amazon Warriors were riding high as they had managed to win in all the three matches they have played in the tournament so far. On the other hand Jamaica Tallawahs too had won 2 out of 2. In this match the Warriors won the toss and put Jamaica Tallawahs to bat first. The openers gave them a good start scoring 49 runs in the first 7 overs. The first wicket that fell was of the captain Chris Gayle after scoring 11 runs. The second wicket of the game also fell in the same over. Chadwick Walton and Adam Voges together controlled the flow of runs. Together they had a 50 run partnership between them. Walton after scoring 53 runs lost his wicket in the 16th over of the innings. The chase from the Amazon Warriors started off pretty well. The first wicket fell in the 6th over when Jimmy Neesham after scoring 16 runs left his team to a score of 41/1. Mohammad Hafeez in this match was not able to make his mark as after scoring only 9 runs lost his wicket leaving the team to 54/2. Lendl Simmons and Denesh Ramdin tried to control the match but failed due to some great bowling from the Tallawahs. Simmons played an innings of 68 runs while Ramdin scored 32 still the effort was not enough as the team was able to score only 144 runs. Due to some great bowling the Tallawahs won their 3rd match in the tournament by 4 runs while Amazon Warriors tasted their 1st defeat. Daniel Vettori was the star bowler giving away 15 runs in his 4 overs. Chadwick Walton was selected as the player of the match for scoring 53 runs of the bat in the 1st innings.
